Driver Faces Charges After High-Speed Chase Ends in Hill Street [ATLANTA, GA]

According to Atlanta police, a trooper attempted to pull over the driver of a 2020 Chevrolet Malibu for a traffic violation on the I-75/85 connector to I-20. The driver, identified as 26-year-old Messiah Kayvon Hinson, failed to stop, sparking a reckless pursuit.

Hinson lost control of his vehicle near Hill Street, veering off the road and coming to a stop. He then surrendered to the trooper and was taken into custody. APD reported finding two firearms in his possession, including a stolen rifle.

Hinson, a convicted felon with an outstanding warrant from Glynn County, faces multiple charges: driving through the gore, felony fleeing, reckless driving, theft by receiving a stolen firearm, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Following the crash, Hinson sustained injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
