ATLANTA, GA.  — In a serious incident on Monday afternoon, three individuals sustained injuries and were hospitalized after a collision involving a semi-truck on I-285 North in DeKalb County. The crash occurred at the intersection of Flat Shoals Road and Candler Road, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). While the accident initially blocked three right lanes of the interstate, all lanes have since been reopened.

According to a spokesperson from DeKalb County Fire Rescue, the accident involved a semi-truck and resulted in three people being transported to local hospitals. Two of these victims were trapped inside a vehicle that had been struck by the semi-truck. Emergency responders worked diligently to free them and provide necessary medical attention.

One of the victims sustained moderate injuries, while another faced more severe, critical injuries. As of now, the condition of the third victim remains unknown, and further updates are awaited from the Fire Rescue spokesperson.

In the aftermath of such accidents, victims and their families often face significant physical, emotional, and financial challenges. When dealing with the complexities of a collision involving a semi-truck, it’s crucial to understand the types of compensation that may be available and how legal assistance can make a difference.

Victims of truck accidents may be entitled to various forms of compensation, including medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and property damage. Medical expenses cover not only immediate treatment but also long-term care, rehabilitation, and potential future medical needs.

Lost wages compensate for the income lost during recovery, while pain and suffering address the physical and emotional distress caused by the accident. Property damage reimbursement helps victims recover the costs associated with repairing or replacing damaged vehicles.
