Driver Fatally Injured in I-20 Collision: A tragic accident occurred on Interstate 20 in Cobb County, resulting in the death of a driver. The collision, which involved a tractor-trailer, happened shortly after 3:30 a.m. on July 25 on the eastbound side of the interstate near Riverside Parkway.
Authorities reported that both vehicles—a 2008 Pontiac G6 and a 2002 Freightliner Cascadia hauling a 53-foot trailer—were traveling in the same lane when the incident occurred. According to police, the Pontiac G6 suddenly lost control, striking the median wall. The impact caused the vehicle to spin uncontrollably and collide with the Freightliner.
After the collision, the Pontiac G6 came to a halt on the southern shoulder of the road, while the Freightliner ended up jackknifed on the same shoulder. Tragically, the driver of the Pontiac, later identified as 29-year-old Stephanie Figueroa-Mora of Villa Rica, did not survive the crash. Fortunately, the driver of the Freightliner and his passenger were unharmed.
