ATLANTA, Ga. – Two individuals in a car were seriously injured when their vehicle was run off the road by another vehicle involved in a chase with Georgia State Patrol (GSP) troopers on Monday afternoon. The car in the GSP chase began its reckless path shortly before 4:15 p.m. when a gray Chevy Camaro was spotted speeding down Candler Road. According to GSP officials, the driver of the Camaro refused to stop when signaled by troopers, prompting a high-speed pursuit. “The driver made evasive maneuvers and fled through local roads, recklessly driving while endangering others in an attempt to evade troopers,” the agency stated.
As the chase unfolded, the Camaro eventually reached Columbia Drive, where it collided with a Nissan Sentra. The impact caused the Sentra to veer off the road, overturn, and crash into a tree.
Both the driver and passenger of the Sentra sustained serious injuries and were transported to Grady Memorial Hospital for medical treatment. The driver of the Camaro also received treatment for minor injuries at the same hospital.
